How to install Conversations on your Shopify website

In this article, you'll learn how to install the Conversations widget to your Shopify website and be able to interact with your customers via Sendinblue chat.

💡 Good to know
This article is an installation guide for the beta version of Conversations. When the final version of Conversations is released, you will no longer need to handle HTML code. Conversations will be installed via the plugins or the Sendinblue tracker.

Open the Layout file in Shopify

To add the Conversations widget to your Shopify store:

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin panel and go to Online Store > Themes
  2. Choose Edit HTML/CSS in the menu on the right.
  3. Open the theme.liquid Layout file.
  4. Find the closing </body> tag in the template code.

Get the chat script from Sendinblue

Now you need to copy the chat widget script provided by Sendinblue. You'll find it on the Chat widget settings in Step 3 Install your chat widget.

You can access the Chat widget settings this way:

  1. Go to the Conversations tab
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Go to the Chat widget
  4. Complete or skip the Profile and Widget steps before accessing the 3rd step, Install your chat widget
  5. Copy the script and paste it in the Shopify widget code before the </body> tag. Then click Save.2021-12-20_11-55-10.jpg

The Conversations widget is now added to your Shopify website.
