Edit an email template

In this article, we will explain how to edit an email template.

💡 Good to know

If you want to edit an email template but still keep the previous version, we recommend you duplicate it. The duplicate template will appear in the Inactive tab, and you will then be able to edit it from there.

  1. Go to Campaigns > Templates.
  2. In the Active or Inactive tab, search for the email template that you want to edit.
  3. Click Edit next to it.
  4. Edit the setup and/or design of the email template:
    Setup: rename your template, change its subject line and From name, add an attachment, etc.
    Design: change the layout and content of your email template.
  5. Once you are done, click Save & Activate to save your email template.

Make an email template active or inactive

💡 Good to know
An email template that is active can be selected from an Automation workflow, whereas an email template that is inactive cannot be selected from an Automation worklow.
  1. Go to Automation > Email Templates.
  2. To make a template active:
    1. In the Inactive tab, select a template.
    2. Click Mark as active.

  3. To make a template inactive:
    1. In the Active tab, select a template.
    2. Click Mark as inactive.

❗️ Important
If a template used in an Automation workflow was inactivated, the workflow will stop running when it comes to the step where the template should have been used. To prevent your workflow from breaking at this step, make sure to edit it and replace the inactivated template.
