Create a Sales CRM task

In this article, we will explain how to create a task in Sendinblue Sales CRM.

When managing your relationship with your customers, it is important to record any exchanges with your contacts. Creating tasks related to a deal or a contact allows you to keep a complete history of your communications. For better management, tasks can be associated with a specific Sales CRM contact or not and can be assigned a due date and category to help organize your workflow and achieve your objectives. Sendinblue Sales CRM also allows you to receive tasks reminders and to automatically create recurring tasks.

In Sendinblue Sales CRM, you can create a task from different locations:

Before you start

  • To receive a notification when one of your tasks is due, make sure you have enabled your tasks notifications. To learn how to enable tasks notifications, read Set up Sales CRM notifications.
  • You can automate tasks creation and assignment based on deal stage, deal score or any relevant contact attributes or event using Marketing Automation. To learn how to automatically create tasks, read Create a workflow to automate tasks creation in Sales CRM.

Here's an example of how you can create a Sales CRM task:

From Tasks

  1. Go to Sales CRM > Tasks.
  2. Click on Create a task.
  3. Fill in the following information:
    • Category: select between Plan a task, Send an email, Call, Meeting, Lunch, and Deadline.
    • Title: add a custom title to your task or keep the placeholder title.
    • Date/Time/Duration: choose when your task is due and its duration.
    • Contact: select one or several contacts you want to associate the task to or leave it blank.
    • Notes: enter more information about your task.
    • Assign task to: assign the task to a specific user or leave it unassigned.
    • Send me a reminder: select how you want to be reminded of the task.
  4. Click on Create.

From Deals

  1. Go to Sales CRM > Deals.
  2. Click on Kanban_view_EN.jpg to select the Kanban view.
  3. Next to a deal, click the three_dots_icon.png icon and select Add a task.
  4. Fill in the following information:
    • Category: select between Plan a task, Send an email, Call, Meeting, Lunch, and Deadline.
    • Title: add a custom title to your task or keep the placeholder title.
    • Date/Time/Duration: choose when your task is due and its duration.
    • Contact: select one or several contacts you want to associate the task to or leave it blank.
    • Notes: enter more information about your task.
    • Assign task to: assign the task to a specific user or leave it unassigned.
    • Send me a reminder: select how you want to be reminded of the task.
  5. Click on Create.

From a deal or contact details page

  1. Go to Sales CRM > Deals or to Contacts.
  2. Select a deal or contact.
  3. On the deal or contact details page, click on Create a task.
  4. Fill in the following information:
    • Category: select between Plan a task, Send an email, Call, Meeting, Lunch, and Deadline.
    • Title: add a custom title to your task or keep the placeholder title.
    • Date/Time/Duration: choose when your task is due and its duration.
    • Contact: select one or several contacts you want to associate the task to or leave it blank.
    • Notes: enter more information about your task.
    • Assign task to: assign the task to a specific user or leave it unassigned.
  5. Click on Create.
