Send an email to a Sales CRM contact

In this article, we will explain how to send an email to a Sales CRM contact and how to view emails in a contact's history.

Before you start

Send an email to a Sales CRM contact

💡 Good to know
If you do not send your email before leaving the page, a draft of your email will be saved automatically. To delete a draft, click on the bin icon.

From a deal or contact details page

To send an email to a deal's related contact or to a specific contact:

  1. Go to the desired deal or contact details page.
  2. Click on Compose an email.

  3. Fill in your email: 
    • Add one or several related contacts in the To field, or add them as CC or BCC.
    • Enter your email subject in the Subject field.
    • Write the content of your email.
      • If necessary, apply formatting to your text.
      • If necessary, attach one or several files up to 10MB to your email.
  4. Click on Send

If you sent the email from a deal details page, it will be added to the deal and to the related contact's history. If you sent the email from a contact details page, it will be added to the contact history.

From the Kanban view

From the Deals page Kanban view, you can send emails to a deal's related contacts:

  1. Go to Sales CRM Deals.
  2. Select the Kanban view Kanban_view_EN.jpg.
  3. Click on the three_dots_icon.png icon next to a deal.
  4. Click on Send an email.

  5. Fill in your email: 
    • Add one or several related contacts in the To field, or add them as CC or BCC.
    • Enter your email subject in the Subject field.
    • Write the content of your email.
      • If necessary, apply formatting to your text.
      • If necessary, attach one or several files up to 10MB to your email.
  6. Click on Send.

The email will be added to the deal and contact history.

From your Inbox

To send an email to a Sales CRM contact from your Inbox:

  1. Go to Inbox.
  2. Click on Compose.

  3. Fill in your email: 
    • Add one or several Sales CRM contacts in the To field, or add them as CC or BCC.
    • Enter your email subject in the Subject field.
    • Write the content of your email.
      • If necessary, apply formatting to your text.
      • If necessary, attach one or several files up to 10MB to your email.
  4. Click on Send.

The email will be added to the contact history.

View an email in a deal or contact history

To filter a deal or contact history to only view emails, click on Filter by: All Activities and select Email.

Once you have sent or received an email, it will be added to the deal or contact history where you will be able to see if:

  • The email was opened and how many times.
  • The link in the email was clicked on and how many times.

You will also be able to reply to an email by clicking on Reply or to view an email directly in Inbox by clicking on Open in Inbox.
