In this article, we will explain how to add a deal in Sendinblue Sales CRM.
In most CRM systems, the term deal represents an opportunity to sell your services or your products.
Deals usually come with custom deal stages, which will allow you to visualize the sales pipeline and estimate future revenues. The final deal stage is closed won or closed lost.
There are two ways you can add a deal in the Sales CRM:
Before you start
- Make sure the default Pipeline suits your team's needs. You can add new stages or edit the existing ones.
Manually create a deal
To manually create a deal:
- From the Deals page or from a contact details page, click Create Deal.
- Fill in the deal information:
- Deal Name: name of the deal
Example: Coinbase Upsell - Deal Owner
- Amount: the value of the deal in your default currency
Example: $10,000 - Deal Stage: stage of the deal you are currently in
Example: In negotiation - Expected close date: the date when the deal is expected to be closed
Example: 21st June 2021 - Related contact: one or several contacts with whom the deal is associated with
Example: John Hollins - Add timeline activity from Related contact to this deal: previous activities added to the selected related contacts will also be added to the deal history (all activities or activities from the last 30/60/90 days only)
- Deal Name: name of the deal
- Click Create
You can find the created deal in Sales CRM > Deals. The deal can also be found on the details page of the contacts associated with the deal.
Import deals from a file
The format of a deal import file should follow the same guidelines as a contact import file. Learn how to format an import file in our dedicated article Format your contact import file.
Step 1: Import your file
To import deals from a file:
- From the Deals page, click Import deals.
- Select your import file or drag and drop it within the outlined area. You will see a preview of the deals data to be imported from your file. The table header shown in the preview is the same as the one in your import file.

Step 2: Map your data
You will now indicate how Sendinblue should match the data from your import file to your Sendinblue deals list. We will attempt to correctly match the data from your file to an existing deal attribute.
Match the data to a different attribute
- Click on the drop-down menu in the Deal attribute column.
- Select the desired attribute.
Cancel the import of a specific data
- Click on the drop-down menu in the Deal attribute column.
- Select Do not import.
Define a new attribute
- Click on the drop-down menu in the Deal attribute column.
- Select Add a new attribute.
- Enter the new attribute name.
- Click on Create.
Once you are done with the data mapping, click on Confirm. After processing your import, we'll provide you with a downloadable detailed report where you'll see the import date and source, as well as the number of imported, new, and not imported deals.
