Assign an owner to a CRM contact

In this article, you will learn how to manually or automatically assign a user in your organization to a CRM contact, and how to remove an assignment.

Before you start

  • To automatically assign an owner to a CRM contact, make sure you have enabled the Automation app to your Sendinblue account. To learn how to enable the Automation app, read Add & manage SendinBlue apps within your account.
  • To automatically assign an owner to a CRM contact using rotation, make sure you have added at least one additional user to your account. To learn how to add users to your account, read Add additional user(s) to your account.

Manually assign an owner to a CRM contact

To manually assign an owner to a CRM contact:

  1. Go to CRM.
  2. Go to CRM contacts.
  3. Select the contacts you want to assign:
    • Directly from your contacts list.
    • Using the search bar in order to find contacts by a specific attribute like their email or their phone number.
  4. Click Assign to.
  5. Select a user.
  6. Click Apply.

Automatically assign an owner to a CRM contact

The contact assignment step in Automation automates the process of assigning contacts as they are added to your CRM. You can assign contacts depending on a certain number of attributes, such as company size, territory, product interest, lead score, and more.

To do so, you need to add the Assign a user to the contact step when building your Automation workflow.

To automatically assign an owner to a CRM contact:

  1. Go to Automation.
  2. Click Create a workflow.
  3. Select a pre-defined worflow or create a custom workflow.
  4. If you have created a custom workflow, add an entry point.
  5. Add a contact assignment step to your workflow:

Assignment to a specific user

To automatically assign an entering CRM contact to a specific user:

  1. In your automation workflow, click +.
  2. Click Perform a CRM action.
  3. Choose Assign a user to the contact.
  4. Select Assign a single user.
  5. Select a user.
  6. Select the default CRM list for your new CRM contacts.
  7. Click OK.

Assignment to a user using a rotation

To automatically assign an entering CRM contact to a user using a rotation:

  1. In your automation workflow, click +.
  2. Click Perform a CRM action.
  3. Choose Assign a user to the contact.
  4. Select Assign using a rotation between selected users.
  5. Select a set of users.
  6. Select the default CRM list for your new CRM contacts.
  7. Click OK.

Remove an assignment

To remove the assignment of one or several contacts:

  1. Go to CRM.
  2. Go to CRM contacts.
  3. Select the contacts you want to unassign:
    • Directly from your contacts list.
    • Using the search bar in order to find contacts by a specific attribute like their email or their phone number.
  4. Click Assign to.
  5. Select Remove Assignment.
