Host your landing page on your subdomain - 1&1 example

In this article, we will explain how to host your landing page on your subdomain using 1&1.

We recommend that you use your main domain name and create a subdomain dedicated to hosting your landing pages. Be as transparent as possible, for example:

Good to know

  • You shouldn't use a domain or subdomain used elsewhere. For example, it should not be your website's domain, the domain used for your messaging service or the subdomain associated with your dedicated IP.

Create two new DNS records on 1&1

Step 1: Create a subdomain

In this example, we will host our landing page on subdomain

  1. Login to your 1&1 account.
  2. Go to to My Products
  3. Click Domains
  4. Click the gear next to your domain name
  5. Select Manage sub-domains
  6. Click Create a sub-domain
  7. In the popup window, type your sub-domain name
    In our example, we use pages but you should use your own subdomain name
  8. Click Save

Step 2: Add a TXT record

  1. Go to the DNS tab
  2. Click Add a record
  3. Select TXT
  4. Enter the following information:
    • Hostname: @
    • Value: value displayed on your Sendinblue account
    • TTL: default configuration (usually 1 hour)
  5. Click Save

Step 3: Add a CNAME record

  1. Click Add a record
  2. Select CNAME
  3. Enter the following information:
    • Hostname:  your subdomain (in our example, pages)
    • Points to:
    • TTL: default configuration (usually 1 hour)
  4. Click Save

Verify DNS propagation

Your modifications will be applied immediately to the DNS zone. Please remember that propagation may take up to 72 hours.

Go to your Sendinblue account to verify DNS propagation.
