Example step 1 for GoDaddy: Delegation of your subdomain

If you purchased a dedicated IP in Sendinblue, you must link this IP using a domain name, or a subdomain in order for it to work. We recommend using your main domain name and creating a subdomain dedicated to sending your email.

The success of your email marketing strategy depends on the establishment of trust between you and your recipients. Be transparent and create a subdomain that allows subscribers to identify your company. For example: news.yoursite.com. For this case, follow: Case 1: Delegate a GoDaddy subdomain name with Sendinblue.

In case you are unable to delegate a subdomain, you can buy a new domain from GoDaddy. The domain name that you purchase must include the name of your website, for example yoursite-email.com. For this case, follow: Case 2: Delegating a GoDaddy domain with Sendinblue

Case 1: Delegate a GoDaddy subdomain with Sendinblue

  1. Login to your GoDaddy account.
  2. Go to your list of domain names, you should see one of the following windows.
    • Either this one : godaddy-1.png
    • Or this one:
      godaddy-2.png

  3. Click DNS or Manage DNS to configure the settings of your DNS.
Now you should be on the following page:
    godaddy-3.png
  4. Click Add
  5. In the host field, enter the subdomain you would like to associate to Sendinblue. In our example, we are associating the dedicated IP to news.yoursite.com so the host would be "news".

We will do this step twice: One time for the first NS record "ns1.sendinblue.com" and the second time for the second NS record "ns2.sendinblue.com". Don't forget to change the host ("news" in the example below) to the real subdomain that you want to delegate.

    • For ns1.sendinblue.com

      godaddy-4.png
    • For ns2.sendinblue.com
      godaddy-5.png

Now you should have two new entries like the ones below:

godaddy-6.png

It is recommended to wait at least a day, in order to ensure that the process works correctly and that your domain and subdomain have been delegated successfully. You have now completed the first part and you can move to the second part to link your IP with your subdomain name in Sendinblue.

Case 2: Delegating a GoDaddy domain with Sendinblue

Caution: Do not perform this operation on the primary domain name of your website. This method should be applied only if you have purchased a new domain specifically for setting up your dedicated IP.

If you bought a domain from GoDaddy, then you'll have to replace the first and second DNS to ns1.sendinblue.com and ns2.sendinblue.com following the steps below:

  1. Login to your GoDaddy account.
  2. Go to your list of domain names, you should see one of the following windows.
    • Either this one :
      godaddy-1.png
    • Or this one:godaddy-2.png

  3. Click DNS or Manage DNS to configure the settings of your DNS.
  4. Then scroll down until you reach the "Nameservers" section and click Change.godaddy-9.png
  5. Select Enter my own nameservers:godaddy-8.png
  6. Then fill in our two NS records ns1.sendinblue.com and ns2.sendinblue.com.

Once you have completed all the steps, click Save. It is recommended to wait at least a day, in order to ensure that the process works correctly and that your domain / subdomain have been delegated successfully.

You have now completed the first part in setting up your Dedicated IP!
