Set up the Mailchimp integration

Overview of the Mailchimp integration

Before you start

• Sign up for a Sendinblue account. You can choose either a free or paid plan, depending on your needs. To learn more and choose the best plan for you, check our dedicated article About Sendinblue pricing plans.
• Make sure your Mailchimp contact lists are complete and cleaned and that they only contain contacts who consented to receive updates from you.

Part 1: Set up the Mailchimp Integration

Now that you are convinced that Sendinblue is the best platform for your needs, you can import your Mailchimp contacts to Sendinblue. It starts with the setup of the Mailchimp integration:

1. Go to the Mailchimp integration setup page.
2. Give a name to the integration.
3. Click Create integration.

Connect your Mailchimp account to Sendinblue

Connect the integration to your Mailchimp account to retrieve the data of your contacts: 

1. Click Connect your account. You are redirected to the Mailchimp login page. 
2. Log In to your Mailchimp account and allow Sendinblue to access it.
   

   

3. Click Continue.

Select the Mailchimp list you want to import to Sendinblue: 

1. Select in the drop-down the Mailchimp list you want to import to Sendinblue. 
2. Click Use this list.
   

Map your Mailchimp data to your Sendinblue attributes

Indicate how Sendinblue should match the data of your contacts from your Mailchimp account:

1. From the Mailchimp Contacts attributes column, select in the drop-down list the Mailchimp data fields you want to map to Sendinblue contact attributes. To ignore an attribute, choose Do not import from the drop-down list. 
2. Click Map Attributes.

Select in which Sendinblue list you want to import your Mailchimp contacts:

Activate the integration

To enable the integration, click Save and activate. You will be redirected to the Integrations page, where you can view the newly created integration.

Part 2: Check your contacts

Now that you have connected and configured the Mailchimp integration in Sendinblue, your Mailchimp contacts will be imported into Sendinblue. The synchronization process may take several minutes, depending on the number of contacts to import. You will receive an email once the import and synchronization of your Mailchimp contacts to Sendinblue are done.

Once you receive the email, access the list by going to Contacts > Lists and choosing the folder in which you created it. You will see that your Mailchimp contacts details have been added to the list of contacts you selected during the Mailchimp integration setup:

Part 3: Start using Sendinblue features

Now that your contacts have been imported to Sendinblue, you can start using our features to connect with your contacts and grow your business:

• Engage your contacts using our friendly email design tool. 
• Automate your marketing using our email, SMS, website tracking, and more. 
• Send one-to-one emails with optimal deliverability and powerful tracking. 
• Talk with your website and social media visitors in real time. 
• Manage your leads and conversion process.
• Integrate Sendinblue with your website and favorite apps.

Part 4: Manage your Mailchimp integration

Edit the integration

To edit the name or setup of your Mailchimp integration:

1. In your Sendinblue account, click your profile name and select Plugins & Integration.
2. Click Manage Integrations.
3. Click Edit under your integration. You are redirected to the setup page of your integration.
   
   
4. To edit the name of your integration:
   1. Click Edit name.
   2. Edit the name of your integration.
   3. Click Confirm.
      
      
5. To edit the setup of your integration:
   1. Follow the same steps as in the initial setup starting from Connect your Mailchimp account to Sendinblue and make your changes.
   2. Once you're done, click Update at the last step to update the setup of your integration.

Activate or deactivate the integration

If you temporarily want to stop your Mailchimp integration, we recommend you deactivate it instead of deleting it.

To deactivate your integration:

1. In your Sendinblue account, click your profile name and select Plugins & Integration.
2. Click Manage Integrations.
3. Click the toggle button next to the integration.
   
   
4. Click Yes, deactivate it to confirm.

Your integration is now deactivated. While your integration is deactivated, your contacts won't be synced from Mailchimp to Sendinblue. To re-enable it, click the toggle button again and follow the same steps as in the initial setup starting from Connect your Mailchimp account to Sendinblue. 

Delete the integration

If you permanently want to stop your Mailchimp integration, you can delete it. 

To delete your Mailchimp integration:

1. In your Sendinblue account, click your profile name and select Plugins & Integration.
2. Click Manage Integrations.
3. Click Delete under your integration.
   
   
4. Click Yes, delete to confirm.

Your integration is now permanently deleted. Once you delete your integration, your contacts won't be synced from Mailchimp to Sendinblue anymore.
